I finally packed away the last of the Christmas decorations yesterday. Today I'll have my husband take down the lights outside. I think after that, we'll be Christmas-free! Don't get me wrong - I usually love this holiday. Christmas of 2011, however........it was just filled with germs and misery and more germs. Yuck. I have to physically fight the urge to open all of our windows and let the house air out for a few hours. I bought all kinds of disinfecting wipes - even the ones made specifically to fight flu germs. I have no idea who brought the cooties home this time, but we have all been feeling lousy for the last 10 days. Everyone's coughing, and sneezing, and blowing their noses, and making horrible noises while trying to suck the mucus back in (the 6 year-old). The general mood around here has just been depressing. To fix that, I cleaned the majority of our house top to bottom yesterday, wiped everything down with those disinfecting wipes, and put away the rest of our stockings and whatnot. I hung out with my husband on the couch (which is back in its rightful place, now that the tree is gone) and watched crappy tv until we both fell asleep. It was wonderful!
This morning I got to bring the kid to the bus stop (YAY SCHOOL!!) and come home to a clean, quiet house with my husband still sleeping in bed.
In short, life is good. :)
Mother and wife by day, psych RN by night. So many different ways to view life. I try to take everything in and be very slow to judge.
